Thanks so much for stopping by to enjoy the many ideas, products, and freebies from another lovely group of bloggers who love literacy! We have our fearless leader, Carla from Comprehension Connection, to thank for organizing this seasonal blog hop! HOST A BARNYARD HULLABALOO!
No poetry unit in my classroom would be complete without a Reader's Theater activity (or two), and Cock-a-doodle-doo! Barnyard Hullabaloo by Giles Andreae and David Wojtowycz is a Scholastic book classic that I use every year to help my students build fluency and rhyming skills! My students love the call-and-response format of the story, and use different animal voices while enjoying repeated readings with a partner.

Tell me, who are you?

from Barnyard Hullabaloo
We chickens are covered with feathers
All over our wings and our legs,
So of course we could fly
If we wanted to try
But we're too busy laying these eggs.
