CURRENTLY....CAN'T BELIEVE IT IS JUNE ALREADY!

I don't know about you folks, but the month of May has thoroughly passed me by at warp speed, and now I am in a bit of a "tizzy" trying to wrap up all of my end-of-the-year activities and responsibilities.

Tonight, I am stepping away from working on progress reports  for a bit to do something more FUN, and that is linking up with Farley over at Oh Boy 4th Grade!

My "good ol' summertime" officially begins next Tuesday, and I am hoping that the "living will be easy!"  I've experienced lots of emotional highs and lows this year, and really need to recuperate, rejuvenate, and just really REST.

I usually remain in my classroom for a few weeks after the students leave to work, re-organize, and re-decorate, but this year I plan to just stack boxes, throw sheets over everything, and say "see you in August" to the custodial staff!   Who knows?  I may wander in on some rainy days, but I am going to try not to.   The load has been a bit heavy recently, and I just need to step away from it for a while.

Hopefully, having a break from my space will be a good thing, and I will return to it ready for new adventures and full of creative ideas to make things better for both me and my students!

And now on to my reflections for this month's CURRENTLY.....

LISTENING
There were sights, sounds, and smells galore on our evening walk, so Brutus and Rose are both zonked out next to me as I type.  They are really aging, and our two-block ramble wears them out!

LOVING
I am a self-confessed "Lady of the Lounge Chair" during the summer, and spent three hours at my friend's pool this afternoon.  Sunshine, lemonade, and chips with queso dip are what Sunday afternoons in June are made for, right?
THINKING
I've been itching to re-do the color scheme in my condo, and replacing the flooring, re-covering the throw pillows, and stitching up some window treatments are on my "to-do" list.   It is time to clean out my sewing room shelves, and use some of the wonderful fabrics I found this winter!

WANTING
Auditions, shows, and dear friends await my daughter as she
heads to The Big Apple tomorrow on the MegaBus!  Her plan is to move their permanently later this summer, and I hope that the musical theatre powers that be will smile upon her grand plan!

NEEDING
I used a "bucket filler" behavior program this year and have been busy shopping for all sorts of fun summer-themed goodies to fill cute plastic sand buckets I found for my students!  If only I had a personal assistant to help me tie all the gift tags on with ribbon and make the Goldfish cracker baggies!
SUMMER BUCKET LIST
I have ambitiously signed up for FOUR Blogger Book Studies and have another list of new children's chapter books that I plan to read in my Adirondack chair on my porch in the early morning.   I also plan to read (pre- and post-nap time) on rainy afternoons while snuggled in my bed with
Hound Dog 1 and Hound Dog 2.

I might even read at the corner table of my favorite coffee shop in the evening while sipping a Caramel Marvel.  I would really like to read on the porch of a lovely lake house near a secluded woods but sadly don't think that is going to happen....

I will remain positive and hopeful though, and continue to share my story, hold a song in my heart, keep calm, and teach on.....

I encourage you to do the same!

    1. Thanks Kimberly! I found buckets at the local Dollar Tree and made tags that are free in my TpT store! Here is the link http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/END-OF-YEAR-GIFT-TAGS-SAILING-INTO-SUMMER-1258813

  3. I am so proud of you for actually being able to cover it all up and walk away from your classroom! That is my goal this year. It is all packed away and I am really hoping to stay away until August...we'll see if I can actually do that though. It always seems like by the end of June I am itching to start digging back in there again! He! He!
