All I Want For Black Friday Linky

Hello Friends,

As I write this blog post, I must admit that I have vowed to keep my holiday preparations simple and my "to-do" list short this year.

Therefore, I've put together a small collection of ideas as part of this fun and festive Primary Pack linky that I hope is helpful to YOU.  I have also shared a few things that Santa might bring me if I continue working hard to stay on the "nice" list!

  • The number one item on my classroom "wants" list is a wireless keyboard that my students and I can use during our Smartboard lessons to make them more interactive!
  • I am a self-professed "boot addict," and this cowgirl-inspired pair from Francesca's would make a lovely addition to my collection!
  • I've just introduced my students to the magic of Laura Ingalls Wilder books, and hope to find more of the picture book series, which is beautifully illustrated by Doris Ettlinger, under my tree this year!

  • During the month of  December, I plan to combine my Social Studies unit on mapping skills with a multicultural study of how holidays are celebrated around the world.  This resource from Mrs. Jones' Creation Station will help my class compare and contrast their own family traditions with those of children who live in Mexico, Italy, Holland, Africa, India, and Sweden.
  • I discovered A Teeny Tiny Teacher's Reader's Theater partner plays two years ago, and plan to scoop up both her holiday and winter bundles this season!  My class currently has readers at all levels, and these differentiated scripts will help them all feel successful and improve their fluency skills in a fun way!
  • If you have not yet checked out the new Rooted In Reading resource series by Amy Lemons and Katie King, you NEED to!  They've put together vocabulary, writing, phonics, and comprehension activities that relate to their four favorite read aloud mentor texts for each month, and I am in love with their December pack!  It even includes complete lesson plans!

A TpT wish list from me would not be complete if it didn't include resources from some of my favorite artists!

  • Laine from A Little Peace of Africa's Carnaval Seller's Bundle is going to be perfect when I find time to update my product credit and terms of use page!
  • Jen from Teaching in the Tongass has clip art to match her integrated Iditarod unit that I plan to use when we study the race this winter.
  • Kate Hadfield's Let It Snow set will be put to good use as I update some of my earliest literacy packs over Christmas break!

Christmas is my favorite time of year, and I created these resources, along with lots of festive freebies, that you might like to include in your December lessons!

  2. I'm addicted to Kate's work. I own nearly every doodle kit she's ever made. I think I made her wealthy last year. :) Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! :)
