Happiness is......Blogger Shirt Swag!

Hello Friends!

I am counting down the days until I get to attend the TpT Seller's Conference in Las Vegas!  I've made my travel arrangements, I've RSVP'd to many blogger meet-ups, I've prepped my planner, and I have started making my Stories and Songs swag bags to pass give to new and old friends!

My participation in the #tptvegas15 conference is a huge personal and professional step for me!  I've been a teacher-author-entrepreneur since November 2013, and look forward to continuing my learning journey with the help of my blog readers, my followers on social media, my TpT store customers, and my fellow bloggers.  Being a member of  this collaborative community has been a gratifying and life-changing experience, and it makes me happy to keep moving boldly forward.

Doing so sometimes requires me to step out of my comfort zone, because I am not one to self-promote.....or in the words of Junie B. Jones, "toot my own horn."  That is an important part of establishing a business presence or brand though, so I've had to start "putting myself out there" more. I am still learning the ropes--trying not to overshare, balancing personal, professional and business life, remaining true to my passion for books and music,  creating resources that are useful to others, and providing content that is current and valuable to others.

It is with all this in mind that I ordered my very own blog t-shirt to wear in Vegas.  When I took it out of the package yesterday, I let out a loud squeal......and then sat down and cried tears that were a mixture of pride and happiness.  The store logo design by my dear friend Laine from
A Little Peace of Africa, and the "custom mini" character by my friend Jen from Teaching in the Tongass had been brought to colorful life by Doug from A+ Images , and I felt both humbled and grateful.

To me, the shirt honors and acknowledges  the passion, perseverance, hard work, and creativity I've invested in Stories and Songs in Second over the past 19 months.  It honors and acknowledges the writer, the educator, the musician, and the dreamer in me.  It represents something good that I started ON MY OWN.  Gaining independence is something I've been working hard on for the last five years, and I am just starting to feel "accomplished."  Not in an egotistical kind of way by any means, but in a "Wowie, zowie.....I stuck with it and it makes me happy!" kind of way.

If you are a fellow blogger or TpT seller, and would like a t-shirt to honor your own store or corner of the cyberspace world, then head over to to order it for FREE!  Company vice-president, Doug Straka, was so easy to work with and I received my order in one week's time! You can beat style and service!

If you are headed to the SDE National Conference in July and stop by the A+ Images table while wearing your shirt, you'll get a chance to "spin to win" on their prize wheel!  If you are looking for a class set of shirts for your students, a variety of school spirit wear or teacher apparel, be sure to check out

A+ Images is also one of the fabulous sponsors of this fun and friendly event that I am so excited to help host with some of my most colorful gal pals from The Primary Pack!  If you are going to be at the conference this year, we'd love to have you join us!  You can RSVP on our Facebook event page {HERE}!  We have lots of great swag bags for you and prizes galore in store!

Two of my Primary Pack blogger buddies, Kristen  from Easy Teaching Tools and Cara from Creative Playground, have great posts about how to prepare if you are attending the conference this year!  Be sure to check them out for great tips on how to prepare, what to bring, and what to expect when you get there!

You can find more information about A+ Images on social media, and even become a
teacher-affiliate if you are so inclined!  I am not one, but it might be something you
are interested in!

In closing, let me share this conversation I had with my daughter when I showed her my shirt and asked her to snap this photo....

Hayley:  OMG!  You are really going to wear a shirt in Vegas with your name on it?

Me:  Of course I am!  That way, my blogger buddies who I've come to know, love, respect, and support for almost two years--but never met--will know who the heck is hugging them!
As always, thank you for allowing me to share my story!  Continue to share yours, hold a song in your heart, dream a little dream, and teach your children well.
